etchings OF LUCIANO Ferriani

Ferriani Luciano was born in Bologna in 1921, where he studied at the Art School and the Academy of Fine Arts, died in 1968, following a hunting accident. He was a man with many interests, took to painting, engraving, journalism and publishing.

Raffaello Bertoli on the pages of the Nation of Florence writes "... likes to call Ferriani continuity of tradition macabre () ... A spooky surrealism could be described as that of his paintings, looking for effects, particularly color, but also image and symbol () ... Some paintings are based precisely on birds, however, interpreted as characters. And often intentionally surreal and as symbols, referring to their lives and their habits. Owls, one ends up being a self-portrait () ... give us a sense of tragic loneliness and solitude dangerous. People tend to think of the many nights spent Ferriani all'agghiaccio, waiting for the game, the only company with a moonbeam. "
